1. General practitioner (GP)

A GP is a doctor who is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of injuries and diseases that fall under the general practice category. A GP will diagnose a patient by examining him/her and performing tests using medical equipment and instruments. After examining and testing his patients, a general practitioner will analyze these tests to determine the correct course of treatment, or refer the patient to a specialist.

2. Cardiologist

This is a doctor who specializes in the heart and cardiovascular system. He/she treats conditions of the heart and blood vessels. There are several sub-specialties with this branch of medicine. Cardiologists specialize in cardiac catheterization, pacemakers and other cardiovascular procedures.

3. Neurologist

This is a doctor who specializes in diseases of the nervous system. The field of neurology includes disorders of the brain, spinal cord, muscles and nerves. Such a doctor diagnosis and treats conditions like stroke, seizures and other conditions that affects the speech and cognitive abilities.

4. Gynecologist – Obstetrician

A Gynecologist is a doctor who specializes in the treatment of female disorders, especially the reproductive system. He/she performs pelvic examination and Pap smears for early detection of cancer. This doctor also performs breast examination, treats sexually transmitted illnesses and prescribes birth control.
Obstetrician specializes in labor and delivery process. They care for pregnant women throughout the pregnancy and delivery process.

If you have an eye problem, this is the doctor you need to see. This is a health care expert in the field of eye disorders. Optometrists perform through testing the eye and the visual system, determine the nature of the problem, and prescribe appropriate treatment methods. These doctors also specialize in contact lenses and treating vision problems of children or old people.

7. Dentist

This doctor is related to the treatment and cure of all oral complications such as mouth, teeth and jaw problems.

8. Dermatologist
